Description Suggest change

This small talusfield below Mt. Jasper offers RMNP level rock with outstanding views underneath the beautiful Middle Earth Wall, which has potential for dozens of sport climbs. The main attraction here, the Pilot Wave, is well worth the hike.

Getting There Suggest change

Follow the 4th of July Trail until the first junction, where the 4th of July Trail switchbacks up and right. Take the left fork which continues straight then eventually back downhill into the valley. Cross the North Fork Middle Boulder Creek via a handrail bridge, then contour right off of the trail headed into the forest. After several minutes of meadowlands, some marsh, and some woods, pop out into a small basin and a beautiful talusfield underneath a 250 foot wall.

Middle Earth GPS coordinates are: 40°00'12"N 105°39'52"W · 2.07 miles.
