Access Issue: RAIN & WET ROCK Details

Corpse Wall sandstone is fragile and is very easily damaged when it is wet. Holds rip off and climbs have been and will continue to be permanently damaged due to climbers not respecting this phenomenon. After a heavy storm the rock will remain wet, sometimes for several days. PLEASE DO NOT CLIMB during or after rain. A good rule of thumb is that if the ground near your climb is at all damp, then do not climb.

Description

The Morpheus Boulder is the small, North facing cliff one encounters during the hike to the Corpse Wall. It’s found on the left side of the trail roughly five minutes after passing the large water tower. The cliff currently has three established sport routes on it that are all short yet challenging.

Getting There

Follow the directions for Corpse Wall and look for the obvious 30’ high cliff on your left, basically right on the trail. It appears approximately two-thirds of the way through the Corpse Wall hike. Please leave the main trail completely unobstructed as you stage your personal gear.
