If you use chalk on the rock, brush it off when you are done. If you use tick marks, brush them off when you are done. Wipe your feet off prior to each climbing attempt. Excess chalk and any dirt, leaves, or mud can polish holds over time. Do not drag your pad from one climb to the next (in order to minimize erosion). And most importantly, Leave No Trace. Pick up your trash and place it in the trash cans at the trail head.
Description
This boulder hosts some of the best slabs in the forest. Delicate and smeary with small features surrounded by a grove of sassafras trees.
Getting There
From the Caterpillar Boulder, take the left trail and hike past the left side of the Dihedral boulder. Uphill, there is a long boulder with a lichen covered slab to the left and a pair of short overhanging aretes. Continue uphill past the two short aretes towards another mossy slab (The Justice Inhibitor Boulder). Continue along the trail uphill and to the right to the tall smooth slab surrounded by sassafras trees.
You can also reach this boulder by hiking right from the Caterpillar Boulder. Hike past the Pup Trailer Boulder and just before you reach the Tractor Trailer Boulder, follow a feint trail to the left towards a shorter boulder. Left of this shorter boulder is a tall slab (The Plank Boulder). Walk along the left side of the Plank Boulder and trend left over several large-ish rocks towards the smooth slab surrounded by sassafras trees.
