Description Suggest change

Very convenient bouldering ledge right off the trail a few minutes from parking, with excellent rock quality and a nice setting. This is a great spot to warm up on the way back to the bouldering near the southern end of the pond or as a destination in itself.

Getting There Suggest change

This is very easy to find and quickly accessible. Park at the new lot on the north side  of Rt 165 just up the hill (east ) from the pond. Walk a minute east along 165 and cross the road (carefully, it's a main thoroughfare) to a gated old road/trail. Follow the trail~ 5 min south staying left  at any forks. It is just ~30 feet off the trail, on the left.

Do Not park  on the south side of the road near the gate, as we used to. It is now posted No Parking and you may be aggressively ticketed and towed.

Note, if you continue down the trail past New Beach you will cross a stream and the trail runs along above the Beached Wale, Pirate Ship and Normandy ledges before connecting into the yellow blazed trail below Hemlock, so you don't have to go back out to the road and along the pond to get to those other climbing spots if you are doing a circuit.
