Blue Castle Rock Climbing

Although technically not in the San Rafael Swell, I felt this tower didn't warrant a new area/sub-area or at least until Battleship Butte and Gunnison Butte are added (likely never—however, it's on my list someday).

Blue Castle is the mud veneered tower north of Green River. Expect chossy, mud-covered, severely fractured Mancos Shale. The massif contains two towers and the western tower is the higher and dirtier of the two towers. If climbing, be well mastered in D-nail tactics, beaks, and mud spectres. The eastern, lower tower appears to have a clip-up nail route on its northwestern side–went in within the last 2 years (2019-2020) and wasn't there when I initially scouted Blue Castle as an objective in early 2019.
