Description
This remote and spectacular part of Kings Canyon NP contains numerous rarely visited walls and pinnacles, with few if any trails and significant potential for more routes. There is little information about this part of the Sierra backcountry either online or in print. For ease of reference, I am centering the location of the Cirque Crest on Marion Peak, as it is one of the more prominent and obvious peaks in the area. Please feel free to message me with more detailed information about this zone to improve this page.
Getting There
The quickest approach will be over Taboose Pass from the east. Approaching via Road's End from the west is also possible though likely longer. See sub-areas for more detailed approach beta.
Owens Valley > Taboose Pass > JMT NOBO > Junction Kings River South Fork > Cartridge Pass, will get you to Lakes Basin. Two days for the fit.
