Description Suggest change

Lüerdisser Klippen consist of about twenty seven west-facing cliffs that are up to 70 feet high. The high rock quality, short approach, >400 routes, and the close proximity to a campground make this area the most popular climbing venue in Northern Germany (and attracts a healthy numbers of visitors from the north of Germany and neighboring countries). The best time to visit is during the summer vacation time (July/August) when most people travel to different destinations. The area is crowded on early and late summer weekends. Winter may allow climbing on sunny days though cold wind and wet condition are common.
Information and reservation for camping near the cliffs can be found here: https://www.jdav-nord.de/english
Current climbing regulations are posted at the campground and can be found (in German) here: ig-klettern-niedersachsen.d…

Getting There Suggest change

By car! Take the street B240 over the Ith. Just west of the high point take a small road north leading to parking and the JDAV campground.
Public transportation includes a train ride to Stadtoldendorf. From here take Bus 523 to Eschershausen and then Bus 534 to Ith.
