Description Suggest change

The Lost Wall is a beautiful, west-facing crag that sits high above Vallecito Creek. The rock is a riolite/quartzite type that lends its self to many thin technical faces and fun featured slab climbing. There are a couple fun moderate two pitch routes, as well as many bolted sport routes. This is a nice and cool location in the summer time on some of the best rock in the area.

Getting There Suggest change

From Vallecito Creek Campground, cross the river, and follow a fisherman's trail upstream until you notice a game trail traversing up the hillside towards the "major wall" and the other crags that are listed on this site. There is a decent trail that more or less traverses up from the river, under the giant scree slope to the base of the wall. The slopes leading up to the wall are riddled with fresh deadfall, so the trail changes a bit every year. If you cross the river at the campground by the nice swimming hole, follow the river upstream for about 200 yards. Look for a big boulder in the hillside on your right when you are hiking up stream as a marker. There is a game trail/climber's trail that starts at the boulder and heads up the hillside towards the crag. As of last summer (2021), there are cairns the entire way.
