Description
A large, south facing wall that is the obvious rock to climb. This wall, really a series of walls, has been well developed, with even more lines on it than in the Plaisir West or SAC Oberwallis guidebooks show. Fortunately, many of them bear metal nameplates at the start with their name and difficulty, so it's not a problem finding the line you want.
The bottom part of Sonnenplatten, the large red slabby dome, is full of easier 3a-4c multipitch routes that are predominately slab. Farther up the canyon, on your left hiking up, you will find more vertical routes that are mostly 5's and 6's but can range into the low 7's if that's your thing.
