Description
Upper Barrier is the obvious headwall at the top of the Amadeus Falls drainage (the drainage which you partially hike to approach Yellow Wall cragging area). It contains a number of trad/sport routes as well as the popular Amadeus Falls mixed ice climb in the winter.
Getting There
Park as for Barrier Bluffs, start up the drainage and continue up the drainage the whole way up the scree and to the headwall. About 45 minutes to an hour in decent conditions. It is possible to stay on the right and keep out of the drainage for about 2/3rds of the way before going directly up the steep scree for the final third.
