In my opinion, this is the place to be on Tenerife. This was the first major area of development. It is located in a national park, and is situated at an elevation of over 2000 meters in an arid environment. In light of the concessions made by the park to allow climbing and the fragile environment, this is the place to flex those leave no trace skills. Don't leave anything behind and please pack out any garbage you might see. The rock felt a bit different than other areas on the island. It seemed relatively stable and was exceedingly grippy. This isn't the biggest climbing area, but I was impressed with the variety. From the vastly overhung to the delicate near vertical, there is a route to keep almost anyone happy. Bolting felt quite sporty, with few exceptions.

Getting There Suggest change

Park by the visitor's center (Parador de Turismo) and take Sendero (trail) #4 (also called Las Siete Canadas) to the climbing area. It's very easy to find with a well maintained and marked flat path. Great place for kids to climb, especially with the slabs all being between 5.2 and 5.4, by my estimate. Total approach about 10 minutes.

Parking area approximately at: 28 13'26"N - 16 37'45"W
