Access Issue: Bridges Out! IMPORTANT LADWP NEGOTIATIONS!!
Details
Due to liability concerns, bridges are being removed in the Owens River Gorge at the request of LADWP. The Bishop Area Climbers Coalition and the Access Fund are currently in negotiations with LADWP to get this issue resolved. In the meantime, please continue to be good land stewards by respecting these bridge closures and finding alternate crossing points until this issue is resolved.
1) Never park or camp overnight at the access points.
2) Always park off the pavement, taking great care to avoid blocking the gates.
3) Clean up after your dogs. (Local climbers are finding abandoned doggie poop bags.)
4) Pack out all trash and TP, including picking up after others.
5) Use the outhouses if at all possible.

Description
Two adjacent large towers form a large inside corner with a south and a west-facing wall. The south facing wall (home of the two 5.13s) gets sun fairly early, while the west facing wall gets sun in the early afternoon. This used to be the left side of the Solarium before its route collection grew too large and was split into two areas. The area doesn't see anywhere near the traffic of the popular areas such as Solarium or China Wall.

Getting There
Walk about 1700'[520m] (~5 minutes) north (upstream) from where the Central Gorge trail meets the unpaved road at the bottom of the Gorge. Toward the end of this short walk, split off right and head toward an abandoned structure, which used to be the Adams auxiliary hydro plant. After about 40'[12m] downward, look for a footpath on the right that will take you to a natural crossing made up of two long tree branches stacked on top of each other - one for the hands, the other for the feet. Since the bridges were removed, crossing the owens river has gotten a little tricky and a lot less safe. Be careful! Once you cross the river, head about 150'[45m] directly toward the wall, staying fairly level - if you're scrambling uphill, you're probably on your way to the next area, the Emergency Room.
If you already are at the Solarium (100'[30m] south of the Stockade) or China Wall (200'[60m] south of the Stockade), head north (upstream) on a well worn path. Once you see a couple of large boulders ahead of you, The Stockade is directly behind you.
