Description
This is a sub-area in Guanella Pass, near the Dark Horse Boulder. This area currently has 5-6 established problems, with potential for more further up the talus field. The rock is the same as the rest of the rock in Guanella, similar to RMNP.
Getting There
Hiking to these boulders is a little tricky, but we managed to find Ice Knife Boulder rather quickly with no directions whatsoever. Expect an approach longer than for the 7 mile Boulders.
From the parking lot, walk towards the creek, hiking down a dirt hill. Once at the creek, follow it south until you find a log crossing. Once across the log, there will be a trail heading south, then turning uphill. Follow this trail and cairns uphill until reaching a talusfield. Once in the talusfield, scramble up for a little while longer, and you will see the obvious chalked holds on the Ice Knife Boulder.
