Description

Sitting just five minutes up the hill from the Ice Knife Boulder, this boulder houses two classic V9s, along with a few other moderates and potential for some truly difficult lines. The boulder’s namesake line, Hammerfall V9, is an absolutely incredible climb and a must-do if you climb the grade and are in the area. It is without a doubt a contender for Guanella’s best.

Getting There

Approach by walking around the left side of the Ice Knife Boulder and dropping into a shallow gully. Follow the gully uphill for roughly five minutes until you encounter a large boulder with a horizontal roof (project). Walk around to the backside of the boulder, and you will see the obvious overhanging wall, smattered with perfect, incut crimps.
