Description
Rwanda's largest crag, it offers true adventure climbing. There is a somewhat new sport route, another that was bolted decades ago, a few boulders, and lots of trad and bolting potential.
Getting There
The cliff is roughly a three-hour drive east from Kigali.
From Kigali, drive east on RN3 to Kabarondo (about a two-hour drive).
Turn left off RN3 and drive roughly northeast to Akagera (roughly 25 minutes).
Follow the dirt road and turn right at the last turn before Akagera National Park.
Turn left at the next village (Cyarubare) and continue generally east until you reach the town of Nasho.
Turn right in Nasho and head up the hill.
The crag will be a 15-minute walk up a narrow foot path (crag rough coordinates of -2.100207, 30.660932). The children will show you the way! Camping is possible in the field below the crag, though you will be constantly stared at by curious children.
