Description

There is a small amount of climbing in Rwanda to keep the local climbers amused. Not much to go out of your way for, but interesting to stop by if you are in the region.

If you are new to Rwanda the best way to hear about climbing related activities is to be added to the climbing WhatsApp group. Ask a few expats and someone will be able to connect you. There is a very irregularly used Facebook group that you can find here, but note this may mostly result in people trying to sell you "guiding" services or hiking trips. If you post, a local climber will hopefully see it and get you connected to the community!

Getting There

Fly into Kigali, Rwanda. A car is the best way to access all climbing areas, although some can be accessed by public bus if you have GPS coordinates for where to go. All areas are within a 2.5 hour drive of the capital, Kigali.
