Getting weather forecast...
Bigogwe is a large rock face that can be seen on the road between Musanze and Gisenyi. There are currently two routes on the main face, each route is 5 pitches long. One route is a sport climb, bolted by a pair of climbers out of Goma in 2016. The route is a lot of fun, but the hanging belays on the slab can be a bit painful. The second route is a dirty offwidth that goes on gear.
Driving from Musanze to Gisenyi, you will see the Bigogwe cliff on your left. The cliff is located approximately 30 min from Gisenyi by road. You can drive or take a local bus to get there. Pull in near the local memorial, and park. You will need to negotiate a rate for parking with one of the locals. Take the main path from there and walk towards the cliff. Local kids will lead you there whether you want them to or not. The approach is 10-15 minutes from the main road.
