Description
The northern-most climbing area (excepting the Annaberg Quarry) and certainly the largest bouldering area in the Pfalz (but don't expect something like Fontainebleau). The boulders are in two clusters, area 1 and area 2. The approach is short and easy (you could even get a stroller in here with a little effort) and parking is not a problem with the enormous parking lot, so this is a beloved climbing area. Chalk is forbidden and there are many signs on the trees indicating such, which makes most of the sloper problems quite a challenge. For that reason, it's a good idea to come here when the temps are low.
Getting There
The coordinates given by the map are for the parking lot. To reach this parking lot, travel to Bad Dürkheim and from the giant keg (it's a restaurant inside an insanely huge keg with a 1,700,000 liter capacity), head towards Leistadt. At the roundabout at the entrance to Leistadt take the left exit up the hill and follow the signs to Bismarckturm and Lindemannsruhe. The hiker's parking lot for Lindemannsruhe (a biergarten where you can also get coffee and cake in the afternoon) is on your right. Park here.
The description for reaching each sub-area is given there.
