The two areas Jefferson County Open Space intends to close in Clear Creek Canyon, shown on the attached maps, encompass the active eagle nests. If the Clear Creek eagles continue to nest in the active nests, these areas will remain closed from February 1 through July 31. If the eagles choose different nesting sites, the closures will be adjusted accordingly to protect those eagles during their breeding season.

Currently, rock climbing areas that fall inside of the seasonal raptor closures include:

Description

This is a small cliffband with a few lines on it up the hill from the Primo Wall. There are lots of rock around here, and there is likely room for development further up the hill.

Getting There

This area is up the hill from the Nomad Cave/Primo Wall. To get there, park the same as for those areas, and cross the river by tyrolean or wading across. From there, the easiest way to get to the boulders is to hike up the gully with Sleven/Cuntor, and continue past that boulder until you are able to exit the gully up a slope to the right. Once you do that, cross over the ridge, and you should see the cliff band down in another small gully on the other side of the ridge.
