Description

The Orgui d'u San Petru (St. Peter's Organ Pipes) is an appealing venue east of the Col de Bavella.

The climbing is highlighted by the pillars and corners on the west face on beautiful granite. Multi pitch routes are the mainstay.

The main routes:

A - "J'aime pas les canyon mais je me soigne" TD+, 6b+, 70m.

B - “La lune dans le caniveau” ED inf., 6c obl. 150m.

C - "La malediction du voyageur" TD, 6b+, 100m.

B - “Canistrelli” TD, 6a+ max, 6a obl. 180m.

C - “Bon pied, bon oeil” TD, 6a obl. 180m.

D - “Lilith” TD, 6b obl. 180m.

E - “Canta” TD, 6b obl. 160m.

F - “Dilliriu” ED inf., 7a max., 6b obl. 160m.

G - "Mal Conciliu" TD+, 6b+ max, 6b obl., 160m.

Most routes will benefit from a selection of cams (perhaps large given the crack size), nuts and some longer slings. These are mostly not sport routes.

Getting There

From the Col de Bavella, go down the D268 towards Solenzara. At or just past the Maison Forestiere d’Arza (the Arza Forest House), park and hike up a road through the forest (park and start of hike at big hairpin turn on the D268).

Follow the road and cross streams a couple of times. After the crossing over the Riu San Petru, pass over a bridge and look for a cairn marking the trail to Finosella Pass. Stay on the main path and take the right path at the next cairn to follow the final narrow trail to the base of the crag. Approach should take around 45 minutes.
