Access Issue: Climbing Regulations/Seasonal Raptor Closures Details

The Joshua Tree National Park Superintendent's Compendium states that:
1. Vegetation is not allowed to be used as an anchor.
2. Only neutral or rock colored bolt hangers are allowed.

Description

On entering the Jumbo Rocks Campground, two prominent formations can be seen a couple hundred feet to the right (southwest). These oblong formations run southeast to northwest both having steep, northeast faces. These rocks and their surroundings form the Jumbo Rocks Entrance.

Getting There

Follow the Main Park Road to the Jumbo Rocks Campground. Park at the entrance. From this point, from this point the hike to the cliffs is a couple of hundred feet to the southwest.
