Description Suggest change

Presently home to about a half-dozen climbs from 5.8 to 5.10a, this cliff sits high on the ridge and is supposed to look like a monkey's head from some angles.

According to Jon, the "routes here are very alpine [read:"can be mossy and/or a bit loose"] with some being bold and ...run out." Plus,it's quite a ways "out there" (40-60 min. from the road) so please don't screw up if climbing there.

This area was subject of a forest fire in the autumn of 2017. You may encounter charred trees and BEWARE OF NYLON RAP ANCHORS ON TREES and BOLTS. The prudent will replace!.

Getting There Suggest change

From the far right side of Lower Primate wall, follow the path east to a small creek bed. You'll pass by the 50 ft high Gorilla Pile area (3 routes: 5.9, 5.9, and 5.10c/d) on the way. More details in the new guidebook, The Notches.
GPS may not be correct, it is an educated guess.
