Description Suggest change

Roadside Crag is a small shaded outcropping of rock that is a 30 second walk from the parking lot. There are three bolted sport routes and over a dozen established boulders, mostly in the V3 to V6 range. The nature of the rock and the generous amount of holds lends to endless link ups and variation to play around on as well. Much of the original development was done by Craig Townsend.

Roadside is an excellent after work crag, a great place to bring kids, or a great overflow crag if some of the more popular Western Mass destinations are too busy for your liking.

Getting There Suggest change

Roadside Crag is located on Wendell road near the border of Wendell and Montague. It is just around the corner from Mormon Hollow and is in the northeast corner of Montague State Forest.

As you head East from Miller Falls, pass Mormon hollow road on your left and then look for a pull-off on your right just up the hill and around the corner. You can see the cliff from the road and from the parking area.

The lot can easily hold two to four cars, or possibly several if you don't mind getting parked in.
