This is one of 35 Mountaineers Peaks listed by the Sierra Club for the quality of climbing. Other peaks in this list include Mt. Russell, Middle Palisade, Thunderbolt Peak, and Cathedral Peak, to name a few.

FA: Sierra Club 1910, East Ridge.

Elevation gain: 2,200 ft. from Bubbs Creek on the East Ridge.

Getting There Suggest change

Shortest approach is from Onion Valley out of Independence, CA. on the Kearsarge Pass trail. About 10 miles. Once you reach the PCT, turn south along Bubbs Creek. The peak is visible on approach.
