Description Suggest change

Whitney Thayer has fun granite bouldering on the South Shore!

The boulders are pretty spread out, with a large jumble of them found around Ode's Den. There seems to be a lot more to be discovered by those who are willing to venture off the path.

If you know anything about the history of climbing in this area, please let me know. I have been unable to find any record, but with such easy access, it's hard to believe that nobody has ever climbed here.

Getting There Suggest change

From Quincy/Boston: get yourself to Route 3A. Head south through Hingham and into Cohasset. Shortly after passing the shopping plaza with the Marylou's on your left, you will see a dirt road (Howes Ln) on the right and a sign for Whitney Thayer Woods. Turn down this and park at the trailhead.
