Access Issue: No overnight camping on PG&E property
Details
Noticed several tents while walking into the emeralds climbing area this last weekend ( 5/20/17 ). PG&E (Pacific Gas and Electric) has posted several signs at the gate and other areas that state camping is NOT allowed. Please respect this so that access does not become an issue! Thanks in advance, Colby W.
Getting There
On the far side. 20+min. approach. Before reaching the Benches trail, from the main dirt road, look for a faint trail on right. Turns into a cobble stone trail that leads to a clearing. to the right is a good swim area, but the approach continues to the left. Ascend a man made rock wall and follow cairns up and around the large boulders to the top of the Benches. Continue following cairns up the slabs, then trend right on a trail through some manzanita and trees, then down the slabs below, marked with cairns. Continue left up stream and you will come to the Sliding Tower. Under Armour Arete can be seen past that and around the corner is the right side of the cliff.
