Description

The Sanctuary is another isolated little area with a tall wall. There are a smattering of problems here with the classic being the Buddha Ladder, which is a beautiful finger crack with finger bucket edges on the sides of it.

Getting There

From the vicinity of Emerald City, et al, a good approach is to drop down the north side of the rocky saddle north of Cranium Crack (lichen!), cross the canyon below and up to another saddle or break in the ridge beyond. From here work your way around to the north side of the formation that forms the west side of the saddle. Stay kind of high on the formation. Drop down some boulders to the narrowish ledge that is the start of Buddha Ladder, etc. See photo on Watson Lake Bouldering or Zen Ledges page.
Cool formations back here. Lots to explore. Jul 29, 2015
