Yup. You are correct. From what I understand, Lookout Rock was bigger before it was quarried. I reached out to museum admin and they are "looking into it". I need to follow up. I think early morning access on weekends from the lower driveway might be OK but would need to confirm. Jun 24, 2016

This boulder looks like it could have a bunch of cool problems on it. It's the 2nd biggest boulder in eastern MA (Big Agassiz on Cape Ann is the only one larger, but most of it is underground). The other boulders didn't look too promising, but the quarried cliff face looked interesting and could probably be set up for a TR quite easily. If the museum owns the property, it might be worth asking about access - they'd probably be happy to have climbers clean up the campfires, graffiti, litter, etc. There's already 2 rope ladders to the top and a rusty railing up there as well (if I remember correctly), so some climbers probably aren't adding much risk. It is in Peabody. I'm curious if anyone has spoke to the Peabody Essex Museum about access to this GIANT boulder. There is currently graffiti on it and a sketchy ladder to the top. They might be OK with people climbing on it. Also, there are a number of other nice looking boulders and a cliff face in the same small woods area. Worth asking if folks haven't already.
