Description Suggest change

During the summer, this series of walls stays pleasantly cool and shaded for the large part of the day. Several of the routes reach almost 30 meters in length, while others are short and power-packed sprints for four bolts. Most of the walls are gently overhanging, but there are several easier routes on slabby to vertical sections of rock. The climbing is generally steep and technical, climbing sustained pockets and edges. And yes, some of the routes have been manufactured, per the now unfashionable 90s ethic. Oh well. The pockets are sinker!

Some of The Projects' classics include Rage Against the Janine, Misty and Dale's Excellent Adventure, Bitch Magnet, Kleenex, etc. Great movement on solid rock!

Getting There Suggest change

To approach The Projects, continue up Seven Devils Road past mile-marker 9 until you cross a cattle guard. The road will widen just after the cattle guard into two fairly obvious parking spots. Unload here and look left uphill- you should be able to see the Scatology Wall poking out through the trees. Approach via a steep, scrappy trail up the embankment to reach the first of the Projects' walls. If you feel like an agent of inexcusable erosion, you're going the right way. As you walk uphill, you will pass the walls in this order: Scatology Wall, Undertow Wall, Funky Buddha Area, Bitch Magnet Area. Staggered slightly downhill and to the right of the Bitch Magnet Area will be Florence and Normandy, Head of Sasquatch Wall, and Wuh Wall.
