Access Issue: Private Property
Details
Burney Limestone is technically on private property that is owned by Bear Gulch Quarry. There have been access concerns in the past between climbers and the landowners, although it has been many years. Please respect the area, keep a low profile, and leave it cleaner than you found it.
Approach Description for Back Wall Routes.
This area include two separate approaches.
1. This approach is for Green Monster, Sittin' Pretty, Life Support, The Weeping Crack, The Weeping Wall. These routes can be accessed the same way as to access the Main Wall. You will encounter these routes first before the Main Wall.
2.This will gain access to the routes Right Field and the North Grotto for Swallow Hole. Approach this section as if approaching the Main Wall. Once you pass through the gap, make an immediate right and follow a short trail that takes you to Right Field or to the North Grotto for Swallow Hole.
To access the north Grotto, follow a very short 3rd class ascent left of Right Field. This would be the same way to setup a top rope for Right Field. You will see the 2nd/3rd class scramble down into the north grotto as soon as you ascend to the top of the notch.
Most of the Back Wall Routes tend to be south facing exposure and see sunlight pretty early. Knock these routes out early if you are climbing in warmer weather.
