Description
The Globe is a large boulder that sits directly to the west of the south entrance gate. This boulder is tall, so bring a couple pads. There are a few widely spaced bolts on top, some of which have hangers attached, so many of the problems (especially on the east face) can be top-roped.
The down-climb is on the south-west corner of the boulder. It's not too bad unless you don't like heights. If that's the case though... you may want to skip most of the problems on this boulder anyway.
2021 UPDATE: On June 29, 2021 a very large flood buried the bottom 4 to 5-ft of the Globe (Entrance Boulder) also damaging the entrance station and trapping employees. In response to the flooding the NPS buried the entire west side of the Boulder as part of a giant berm they built to divert future floods. After repeated negotiations from the local climbing coalition, NPS agreed to remove the dirt berm from the west side of the boulder, but the 4 to 5-ft of sediment from the flood remains around the entire Boulder. All routes are significantly altered.
