Description Suggest change

This is a less popular area than most of the gritstone edges, even though it is relatively low lying. The crag gets sun in the afternoon and evenings. The aspect is semi-industrial, cluttered with nearby electricity pylons and a distant steelworks.

The rock is often black (due to smoke) amd has been quarried in several sections. Though climbs are relatively short (30' to 50'), take care as the landings - massive quarried blocks below the crag - are often lethal.

Getting There Suggest change

The crag lies close to the village of Deepcar, north of Sheffield. Park at the end of Station Road which lies between the A616 and A6102. Follow a path uphill through woods and two tunnels, then turn right and follow a path that runs along the top of the edge.
