Description

This currently inoperable lift service ski mountain has a few small crags scattered across its forests. The mountain is frequented by back country skiers both around the residential areas and up across the mountain with skins and/or tele/AT gear. Unfortunately due to neglect of grooming the trails in the summer, there is currently a lot of brush and overgrowth in the ski trails which without a 2 to 4 foot base of snow, there can be much trouble to move around and through the overgrowth. A few short ice and mixed climbing routes are hidden in a crag just south of the south-most ski trail and about half way up the mountain.

Getting There

Tenny Mountain resort on Tenny Mountain Highway, Plymouth, NH. Park somewhere at the base either near the ski trails (but not near the no-parking signs) or in the residential area with permission of a resident.

Walk up the southern most (leftmost) ski trail for about half a mile, and shoot south (left) into the woods. Scurry for a ways over varying terrain and find the base of the broken crags. You can follow the talus and scree that are beneath it and up a steeper section of the hill as a guide. The ice develops to the left of the crag as you walk up the gully between the two broken crags.
