Description

Hamm Canyon is a scenic spot that looks more like a rock wall when viewed from Road 20R. It offers good hiking as well as sport and trad opportunities. Camping is also easily found here but with no water in the immediate area.

Tall Wingate walls loom above as you walk up the wash to access the climbing. There are areas to climb are on both sides of the canyon. A walk all the way up to the end of the wash is also recomended, the rock is fun to scramble on, but please don't smear up this picturesque area.

Getting There

Drive 8 miles down 20R. There are two unmarked roads on the right just after a cattleguard. Take the second road straight to the canyon. Park by the wash to start. If you are setting up to camp there is a site northeast of the wash.
