Description

The Anvil Tower is located south of the bridge where the Lake Gulch Trail meets the Inner Canyon Trail. It is a free-standing tower with routes on most of its sides. Two sets of bolts are located on top of the tower, one set on the east side and one on the west side.

Tom Hanson placed the bolts on top back in the mid to late eighties.

Getting There

From the Lake Gulch Trail bridge, head south up the slope till the incline begins to lessen. The Anvil Tower sticks up above most of its surroundings, so it can be seen from a short distance away.

Route Names

I haven't heard any of the names that Tom Hanson gave the routes on Anvil Tower. If anyone knows anything, let me know and I'll update accordingly.

Photos

I did the FAs of these routes back in the mid to late eighties.
I put the bolts on top.
From the appearance on top, I think I may have been the first to the top of this hidden tower, shaped like an anvil, hence the name.
