The Upper Wall is covered with big holds with the occasional thin section between them. The wall is slightly overhanging and has a few roofs or bulges to surmount.

If you are going to remove vegetation at the base of a climb please remove the minimal possible. In this case a little pruning would have been plenty. We left up the scrub oak when we put up the climbs, so removing just the new branches should have been plenty.
If you really decide that you need to take down the whole stalk, (which in this case was not necessary) then please use a saw and cut it flush with the ground.
Hacking down vegetation with an axe, and leaving pointy stumps and knocking over half chopped stalks is an embarrassment to beavers everywhere, is dangerous, and reflects poorly on all climbers. Please clean up your mess. Oct 21, 2013
