Description
Located on the hill south of the reservoir (Embassament), this crag has great views, a nice ambiance, and some fun climbing to boot. The trail approaches on the right side of the cliff with 16 short lines (4-6 bolt 40 foot affairs graded between 10b to 12a on vertical to slabby gray rock). Next, one walks underneath a very steep orange section of wall, almost cave-like, with few routes other than two wonderful looking 13b's ('Twist as lola' and 'Pollastre de granja'). Finally you'll reach two final sections with some moderately long routes in the 5.10 to 5.12 range.
Getting There
Head Northeast out of Margalef on the T713 for about 1.5 Km. Turn right onto a paved road signed for "Embassement", passing under large power lines. Follow the paved road down the hill, past Can Torxa and the impressive El Laboratori, a few hundred yards later take a right down another steep hill, an immediate left and further down. Drive across the creek and up to the second parking lot which overlooks the dam. Hike up the hill on a steep road past a switchback, look for a cairned trail that switchbacks up the steep hillside for ~4 mins.
