Description

A quartet of bolted moderates. Not much traffic here, possibly because it's only a couple years old, possibly due to the moderate grade. The base is shaded but up on the climbs you'll get some sun, depending on the time of day. Slabbier and lower angle than most of Malibu Creek.

Getting There

Approach as for Stumbling Blocks. Head up past Guerilla Drilla and hang a right behind that rock. Follow the trail until you hit a wall, then head uphill until you see the bolted rock face (hint: where the moss ends).

Hellos-

I'm currently searching for a set of 12 Blue, Black Diamond Quickdraws. They were left behind on Sunday, June 5th at Toddler Terrace, Malibu State Park. The set belonged to a friend who was climbing in that area.

Please reach out if you know any info that may help. Thank you! :)

APPROACH BETA - Went here for the first time this weekend. The easiest approach was walking past Stumbling Blocks up to Mt. Gorgeous. Stay close to the MG wall all the way up the trail and you'll see the trail veer to the the right. Follow that, it will start to go down hill a bit, you'll cross two fallen over trees, and you see the base of the climbs. Nov 23, 2015

Alternate (easier) Approach -
Walk past stumbling blocks and towards Ghetto Wall. Turn left just before the trail drops steeply (8 feet of hopping down rocks). The trail you are turning onto should closely hug the wall as it climbs up the hill. May 13, 2014

For what it is worth... my Southern California Rock Climbing guidebook has 2 routes listed in it on page 207: Scratchy Beard 5.8 and Slip N Slide 5.8. Apparently these routes were put up violating some basic common sense practices and were removed. Please respect the wishes of the locals and don't take it upon yourself to re-establish these routes. I in no way intended to legitimize these routes, but was simply recording what I saw and climbed. Locals trump guidebooks. Climb on, Tom Sep 20, 2013
Is this area directly across from Mtn. Gorgeous to the left a bit, if you are looking in the direction of Ghetto Wall? Feb 9, 2013
Great area for first sport leads. The four climbs gradually increase in length and difficulty (left to right) and are easy enough to allow you to focus on climbing and clipping safely. I did my first leads here and felt very comfortable despite the new mental element. Oct 31, 2011

Nevermind, the bolts and anchors are gone on both these rotes. Oct 4, 2010

Does anyone know what the 2 routes are just down the hill from these 4? They felt about the same like slabby 7's. Fun warm up are and away from everyone else at all the packed spots. Apr 25, 2010
