Blautal (Blue Valley) has some thirty crags. In Blautal, as well as in the Aachtal, there are several caves with archiological significance called the Brillenhöhle, which hunter/gatherers from the young paleolithic era are thought to have lived.

Much of the limestone has been mined for the purpose of blackboard chalk, and quarrying continues on smaller scales today.

Getting There Suggest change

Go to Blaubeuren, a short trip west from Ulm. You will see some crags from town.
