DescriptionHousing at least seven major climbing areas, the terrain between Füssen and Lindenberg gives us a glimpse at what climbing would look like in the mind of Walt Disney. Füssen alone holds at least 17 climbing areas, some with stunning views of the Schwanstein and Schwangau castles.
Getting ThereTRAIN: from Munich, running often to Füssen to keep up with the demand to see Ludwigs castles.
AUTO: From Munich, take the A96 to the Buchloe exit, whereby you will want the 12 south to Kaufbeuren. Continue on the 12 until you see the 16 in the direction of Marktoberdorf, take the 16 all the way to Füssen.
From Garmisch - Take the 23 to Ehrwald (note, you will be in Austria, roads change and vignettes are needed. Take the 179 toward Biclbach, and follow it all the way to Füssen.
From Stuttgart - Take the A8 to the A7 and follow it till it ends, then follow signs for Füssen.
