Description Suggest change

"La Brichera" is the highest and arguably best multi-pitch trad within an hour of Huaraz (driving time). Perfect for training for La Esfinge.

There is still a ton of potential on Brichera for those willing to work at altitude. Only a small percentage of the plum lines have been picked.

Getting There Suggest change

La Brichera is in Quebrada Llaca looking up toward Rima Rima from the Llaca Boulders. After passing the entrance to Llaca continue up the road until it crosses a river. At that junction lay the Llaca Boulders and from there La Brichera can be seen. The long, curving corner that is visible from the road is the route En El Tambo.

Approach via the Llaca Boulders (in the "Llaca (Bouldering)" link here on MP). DO NOT TRY TO APPROACH VIA THE REFUGE...unless you want a long walk. From the boulders at the river crossing, walk straight up the obvious hill and into the gully. There are cairns that mark the path. Once at the base of Bricherita (the smaller wall below La Brichera) go right, heading toward "En El Tambo". At the base of "En El Tambo" you can cut up and left to reach the other routes.
