Sugarloaf is a privately owned recreation area. The park is closed at night and the gate is locked. Allow enough time to pack, hike, and drive out the oneway road to the gate before it is locked.

Description

Devil's kitchen is the first wall you come to (on right) as you drive up the access road. Located a few hundred feet west of the east lookout parking lot. you can either park at the east look out or park on the edge of the access road.

Because this area is lower on the mountain, this area prone to remaining wet after a good rain. It's also one of the most shaded areas here. To access the top you can use the 2ed to 4th class scrambles scattered about the length of the 600 foot long area.

Parents, this is a great spot to climb with your younger kids (U10). Lots of low angle terrain that adults overlook but is perfect for young kids.

Getting There

Park on the right side of the road and walk the short distance to the base of the rock.
