Description
Mount Nemo is located in Burlington, Ontario and is a conservation area owned and operated by Conservation Halton.
As with many of the crags that form the Niagara escarpment there is a single cliff line, which is broken in several places by gullies that can used to access the base of the routes. The walls on the main cliff, from (climbers) left to right are: Gooseberry Wall, Helmut's Wall, Central Wall, Alfred Wall, Iguana Wall, White Trash, The Castle Area, Ivory Tower, New Wall, Ground Zero Area,
Cat's Tail, Morphine Ledge, Camel Wall, and The Big Gulp.
Local rescue authorities have affixed "rescue plates" along the base of the cliff. These bright red plastic plates that have numbers on them and are frequently used by climbers to locate routes. The plates are numbered sequentially from right to left, starting at #1 and going up to ~#50. Confusingly (and annoyingly), there are also spray painted numbers marking the start of some routes. These numbers start from the left side of the cliff band, and increase as you walk right.
