Good little bouldering area with high quality rock located up on the south bluff. Nice place to go to avoid any crowds. The Ejaculator boulder is the main attraction, but there are other great boulders scattered near by. Well worth the hike up.

Getting There Suggest change

Not easy to find, but here is some help: The quickest way up is to park at the South shore parking lot and hike east along South Shore Rd. Go about 200 meters or until you see the yellow park sign on your right, head south to south-east into woods until you come to nice sized boulder with large oak tree next to it, there is a faint little trail that leads you up hill into the talus field from here. Scramble your way up til you reach the rim of the south bluff. You should be at the boulders.

The longer, but maybe easier way is to hike to the Reserve, and head east along the rim, eventually hitting the Ejaculator.

This shows a very rough outline of the path I took to find this boulder yesterday.<br> <br> I started at the West Bluff lot and hiked to the Reserve which is maybe halfway along the green line (could be wrong). From the reserve I forged east along the top of several talus fields, dropping into most of them way before I needed to. Unlike the clean talus of the West and East bluffs, most of the talus I encountered was dirty, unstable and a real pain in the ass. The Ejaculator is a decent trip down so I'd recommend staying higher (more south) and in the woods. You can use the lake as your guide as you have a sense of where it is the whole time. You can start looking for the Ejaculator on your left once you've passed the eastern edge of the lake and the south shore parking lots are due north of you.<br> <br> To get down from the ejaculator I went downhill and trended slightly left coming out on South Shore drive just to the east of the southern most lot of the south shore. If you were to reverse this trip you could walk east out the southeast corner of this lot and look for a drainage pipe on your right. From there start questing up into the woods in a southeasterly direction. You won't be able to see the Ejaculator until you are all the way on top of the bluff. It wasn't fun coming down so I don't imagine it's too fun going up...
