Description Suggest change

Nice little formation slightly off the beaten path with a grand view of The Crags, south towards Meeker and Long's and looks down on Lily Lake. Family friendly. Two sets of anchors easily accessible for setting top ropes; first one over a 50' section that's great for little kids in sneakers and teaching newbies the fundamentals; second anchor is 20' to the south of first, which is also the top out for two 5.8 climbs, 50' & 70'. Created June '07 as a nice getaway after seeing two families of about 6 kids and 4 climber-parents shut out from the regular Jurassic Park moderate climbs by a large, guided group from the YMCA camp in Estes Park.

Getting There Suggest change

Hike up the standard approach until about even with the Dinosaur Foot formation, then take a right (Southeast) and move up through the notch. As the grade drops down on the back side, Bed Rock is on your right. Drop your packs and step up over an old dead tree and on the formation to set top ropes or move a few more feet down the grade to start lead climbing. Less than 5 minutes from leaving the trail.
