Access Issue: Climbing Regulations/Seasonal Raptor Closures Details

The Joshua Tree National Park Superintendent's Compendium states that:
1. Vegetation is not allowed to be used as an anchor.
2. Only neutral or rock colored bolt hangers are allowed.

Description

The Cereal Cliff lies to the left (northwest) of The Hot Tub. The cliff has a section that faces Quail Springs Road (south) as well as aspects that face west and north. There are at least 22 routes on the cliff.

Routes are described starting on the north face (facing away from Quail Springs Road) and moving in a counter-clockwise direction to end up close to the left end of The Hot Tub. The routes that can be seen from the parking spot start with The Oat Route and continue right to Morning Chunder.

Getting There

Park in the first paved pullout to the west of Intersection Rock (the same parking spot as for Watanobe Wall). From the pullout, the cliff is visible to the left (north) of center.
