Description
This spire is probably the most notable free standing feature in the RRG area. There are bigger, there are more popular, but this pinnacle is the most pristine, with the best route and the best view of any promontory in the entire valley.
There are a few variations on the original route, but none surpass the most obvious and standard line up.

Getting There
Follow FS Rd. 9b to an overused camping area on the right side of the road, easily identified by a concrete ford blocked by a gate. Drive a little further and park near an old abandoned road heading up the hill to thte left. Follow this trail through a switch back and when the road bench begins to bend around to the right beeline straight up the ridge through a limestone band and beyond through a boulder garden. You can't miss the pinnacle near the main wall once you get close, especially in winter.
