Description

The Monster is a short wall containing a dozen climbs of varying difficulty. The Monster could even be considered a fine area for some highball bouldering problems.

Getting There

To find the Monster climb up the CCC trail past the "No Sweat" formation. Once you pass "No Sweat" the trail starts to turn to the north and ends up coming to a "T". The Monster is the short wall directly in front of you. The large boulder at the trail junction is the bouldering problem "The Flatiron".

The actual Monster Route is a butt hard overhanging crack to a large flake jug and then a wide kind of laybacking thing above. It is a pretty good onsight route as the gear is obvious. Just don't hang around long placing it as the route is a burly 510+. Short but really stout. Mar 20, 2002
