Description
The Steinke Basin Rocks are featured in the 3rd edition of Swartling & Mayer's Climber's Guide to Devil's Lake as roped climbing routes. They are actually mostly highball boulder problems in my opinion. The only reason to rope up for a few is a bad landing. The are some absolute GEMS to be done here.
Getting There
The area is split into four different walls, Cibola Wall, Triple Tower Wall, Steinke Wall and Storm Crack Wall. The easiest to find is Steinke Wall which is right off East Bluff Woods trail. The others can be found from there. GPS will help ALOT!
NOTE: When I'm describing the "East Bluff Woods Trail" it is NOT the part of this trail that leaves directly from the North Shore parking lot. This part either starts at the Steinke Basin parking lot right off Hwy DL, or at the exit of the North Shore at the intersection of Hwy DL.
