BETA PHOTO: Hidden Tower, Joshua Tree NP.

Description

This 100' tower is identified by 2 prominent cracks on its northeast face. The right crack is Sail Away, one of the best routes in the Park for the grade. Just left is Wild Wind, another fun moderate with an exciting traverse. Three other routes are listed in Vogel's guidebook but rarely climbed.

This is a popular area. Count on waiting in line and be courteous of others. NOT recommended for large groups.

Getting There

Approach #1: From Real Hidden Valley parking lot, hike north along trail to "T", turn right, and follow Nature Loop trail past Sports Challenge Rock. Cut northeast and Hidden Tower will be on your right.

Approach #2: From Hidden Valley Campground, hike Quail Springs Road west for a few hundred yards. Look for faint trail past Slump Rock heading south. Follow trail to Hidden Tower.
